Western Riptide

U13 A | Feb 25-26, 2023

The U13 A Western Riptide team was scheduled to play a 6:00 pm game against the CB Blizzard at the Membertou Sports and Wellness Centre on February 25th and a 10:30 am game against QC Black at the Keating Centre on February 26th.

On Friday, February 24th, the U13A Riptide's manager, Jennifer Meuse, sent out an email saying they would not make the trip "because our parents are not comfortable travelling in this weather. It’s giving snow all night, temperatures will be very cold, it’s hard to say what road conditions will look like tomorrow morning when we have to leave since we can’t leave today because the roads are too bad."

Here are some shots taken from the NS highway cameras on Saturday morning, February 25th. Distances are from Yarmouth to that location on highway 101. As well, the 511 road reports indicated that the 101 was snow covered or partly covered.
